Our Baby Girl is 2~

Today we are enjoying celebrating Ella's 2nd birthday. I am having fun at least. ;-)  We decorated the dining room FULL of Mickey Mouse, Mom made a Mickey cake and Ella woke up to her bed and room full of balloons.

She is having a ton of fun soaking up all of the attention from both of her grandparents... SO spoiled. Or VERY loved as I try to look at it.  We will be having a relaxing dinner at home, followed up by Grandma Heikes' Mickey cake and presents.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ELLA!!!! Mommy & Daddy love you so much. Thank you for making our life richer and much more entertaining! We love your spirit. I can't wait to continue to watch who you will grow up to be.

Will post more photos later....

2 going on 22

With Jaden getting most of our attention lately.  Ella has really grown up in the past two months!  Aunt Gwyn gave her a purse as a big sister present when Jaden was born.  Well, she LOVES it!  She calls it either her "church bag" or her "purse".  Today we went to church and she filled it with all the essentials: milk, fish and colors!

AND this is the 22 part, or maybe I should say I am scared for the teneage years.  Well, I guess I have to worry about the "terrible two's" first.  So, far its looking like she could be just as sassy as her mommy!

That's all for now....Have a good week! Jason

Snow days... Not the same as I remember

I remember being so excited back when snow days gave me an excuse to sit with Bambi and eat an ENTIRE box of cereal in the morning or make RAW pancakes, fold clothes while watching soaps and RUN during commercials to complete the chore list mom had for us. Todays snow day was certainly not what I remember.

First, the chore list was my own. And, certainly no pancakes while attempting to get this Jaden weight off. I also don't remember ever going to the bathroom as much as I did today. Now understand... it was not for my sake. We are in the beginning stages of potty training. Ella thinks it is absolutely fantastic to go potty and get stickers, chocolate milk, or Raisinets when completed. I am pretty sure we are going to wear the carpet out going down the hallway.

We might be a little looney in the house after spending the whole day inside. We have done this previously, however there is certainly something different about not being able to go anywhere that does add a certain strain on the mental state of a family with 2 kiddos under the age of 2..... and did I mention the potty training?!

There is one person here that seems to be throughly enjoying life. Jaden. This little guy has to be the happiest 2 month old I have ever seen. When he catches the eye of anyone he flashes the biggest smile. I LOVE IT!!!

He also can't keep that tongue of his in his mouth. He will flash a grin and then out slips his tongue. You will also notice he is in the Bumbo! Today is the first time we have put him in the seat. He has been doing really well holding his head up and when laying on his tummy he holds himself up quite impressively.

The Bumbo was enjoyed a great deal. I am thinking this may be his new spot... this is until he begins the moving around process. AH! I am scared to have two little movers in the house. Just when I thought I was getting control of this house again..

2010

Been a while since I have updated this... almost like a year has passed... WAIT!!!! 2010!!! Where did 2009 go? And for that fact, how long will it take me to start dating everything starting with a '10 vs. '09? I think I have scribbled out pretty much every date I start because I automatically start writing a '0'. Probably will take me 10 years and then I will be behind all over again!

The Christmas holiday was great. One of the more exhausting ones than I can ever remember... but for all good reasons. A newborn, a 2 year old and travel to see family. Yes, we are really questioning our intelligence on having two children under the age of 2. They are fantastic though.

Jaden had some issues gaining his weight that the Dr's would like to see. So that pretty much consumed our entire week of Christmas. We felt like every minute of the days were either feeding or discussing when and how much to feed him next. No worries though! He is doing well now! 10 lbs. 3oz on Monday of this week. He is already 7 weeks old and has developed quite the 'chill' personality. He certainly has more of my more calm nature than Ella. She is a bit like her Daddy.. anyone ever noticed? I wish I had a 1/4 of their energy.

Jaden finishing one of his 'meals'. We often filled this kid to the brim.

We were able to make it to IA and IL a few days right after Christmas till this past week. We were able to celebrate Christmas with the Breuers. Ella and Jaden were spoiled terribly. Thank you Papa and Grandma Breuer! Ella received a Mickey Mouse who is just about the same size her. We are pretty sure she thought he was actually real and sitting in front of her for a few minutes. Since she opened him he hasn't gotten to far from her sight. We are constantly answering the question "Where Mickey go?" these days.

Cashed out with Mickey. Behind Daddy, he is her first love.

Ella totally enjoyed getting to know her cousin Kylee more also. She just loves her "Ki-eeee!".

Gpa Glennis & Gma Judy have had a bit of a baby boom in the family in the past couple years. From no babies... to 3!!!

Since our return, we are attempting to get into some what of a schedule. It is Friday and I am still working on that. Might take me a couple weeks. We started a bit of potty training this week too. Ella is doing really well and I am sure if I were up to 100% of my energy, she would have it licked in a couple days. I just get very tired and often forget to ask her about 'going'. We got her some Minnie panties for Christmas. She is always wanting her "Minnies" on.... I just have to remember when she does have them on!

As you can see my Jaden's fun little cheeks he is gaining. I used to think Ella looked like Jason.... and then this little man arrived in our lives....

'White' Christmas

It is 100% a white Christmas this year. Interstate is closed from Canada to Iowa now. Closed at 8:30 this morning and the official blizzard warning won't end until tomorrow at noon! Winter is here.

This photo doesn't exactly do justice here. The drift is about 4 ft. now. The blow out this afternoon is going to be outstanding. We are for sure going to be taking turns getting to do that. Easier to take turns than battle that one out.

Grilling is going to be a bit more difficult as of now. The Eggcessories are getting dumped on.

We are totally enjoying our 1st Christmas as a family of 4. Santa found us this morning and left stockings plum full of goodies. Santa's cookies were all cleaned out. Jaden slept through the entire stocking and gift opening ceremonies. I doubt that will EVER happen again. Next year will be full of so much more energy... And that means from Jason!.. I think he just feeds off of Ella's excitement.

Christmas Eve in all of our new pjs. Followed up by watching The Polar Express. We all sat on the couch and watched... everyone... including Ella. Amazing.

1st present of Christmas 2009

Enjoying her presents. She just keeps yelling 'THANK YOU!'  as she sits and plays. I hope she is always that appreciative!

Taking in his 1st Christmas!

Thanks to Nick & Lynn for lending us this adorable Baby's First Christmas outfit. So nice, warm and snuggly.

Jason made eggs benedict this morning... yum. I am making a triple layered chocolate cake as I type. Appitizers for lunch/dinner. Gee. I wonder why this baby weight isn't just sliding off. hhmmmm...
Merry Christmas! Kamille

Fastest Month of Our Lives

This past month has been the fastest of our lives. Of course, we aren't thinking that at 2 am, 3 am, 4 am, 5 am….. But looking back I don't know where it went. Jaden was 4 weeks old yesterday! He is a fairly happy baby. Like any male, happy when he is fed, poo-ed, and sleeping. When he is not in this state... WATCH OUT. This kid can belt it.

He likes to snuggle with Mommy. I am please with this while we are watching TV or I am wanting to sit down and snuggle. NOT helpful when I want to get something done or Jason wants to snuggle with him. I think a lot of this has to do with not really putting him down during the day. Trust me, this is NOT the way I like to do things. His big sister is totally in love with him and consistently is wanting to kiss, hug, lay on, lay near or dance around him. Not in the best interest of a newborn of course.

We had an appt last week to check on Jaden's progress. He is doing well except for gaining adequate weight. I would like to explain to the Pediatric Association the genetic make up of a Breuer: Eat all day and still gain ZERO weight. Take a look at his Daddy! Jaden will be shaped like his Daddy. He came out sounding like he was pretty good size. However taking a look at his legs and LONG torso... this little guy is skinny!!! Hope to have grabbed those genes of Uncle Jeremy. Although I am not sure what my family would do with anyone over 6'3". He will not fit in there if he does turn out as tall as Jeremy. We will going back in tomorrow to make sure he has gained more over this past week. We hope to see some good gain before the Holiday season. I will be none to please if I am instructed to wake him up to eat. This is not in my play book.

Ella and I are fighting some head yuckies this week. Between the two of us we have gone through about a box of Puffs Plus in the past 3 days. I am very happy that she does know how to blow when I ask. Other than her nose she seems in pretty good humor though. My head on the other hand could use about 2 days of sleep to fight this off though. Blah.

Jason has been keeping busy with work and year end stuff. Harvest has pretty well halted up here. I think they will continue to combine the 'corn' and 'beans' after the new year. I quote because there is really no reason corn and beans should be planted here. Conditions are certainly not of those we are used to in IL & IA.  We can't believe we are coming up on our 1 year anniversary in ND. We were recalling that we came up to house hunt on December 26th last year. Wow. What a year this has been! Jason loves his job and totally enjoys the difference in agriculture. I am positive he is chalking this one up to a very successful move for him. I just wish ND was located a little closer to IL.

We are prepped and ready for Santa to arrive. We are excited to wake up here at home for Christmas Morning. Ella is just itching to dig under the tree. She has ripped one present... Jason's. (He, thankfully, didn't see anything under the paper.) After both Jason and I scared the dickens out of her, I don't think she will be doing that again.

We are thankful for all of the well wishes sent our way this past month. We hope all out there have a fantastic holiday. Safe travels to everyone!!

Merry Christmas from the North Dakota Breuers!

We have made it 2 weeks~

Well we made it 2 weeks with 2 kids. So far.... ok.  Of course, only 2 of those days have been without a grandparent around. The first whole day and night Jason and I were not sure we were going to survive. I think Jason was the only one not in tears. I guess the hormones were getting to the rest of us ;-)

Here is Jaden just a couple days ago. Hard to get a direct face shot without him going cross eyed. So this is the best I could get right now. He is growing already. We have noticed him getting longer. He is NOT a chubby little guy like you would think when hearing his weight at birth. He is actually quite a skinny guy. His legs are ssssoooo skinny. Let's just say he does not have his mothers legs.... poor Ella... she does have them.

Winter has arrived in ND. Snow is here to stay now and temps are in the negatives. Goodbye to positive double digits temps til March. Winter coats, gloves, hats and boots are out of the closets now. But that also means that the sleds are out too!! Ella got a ride from Daddy the other evening. She wasn't all to sure what to think of it. I am pretty sure it took longer to get all of clothes on than it did for her to get cold and come in.

I don't know about you, but those of you who knew my niece Molly when she was little, do you see any resemblence here? I think this could easily be mistaken for a photo of her when she was little. Just when I think she couldn't be any more of a Breuer.

Grandma was here to enjoy the first sled ride. I was inside with Jaden. We kinda forgot what it was like to have a baby in the house. One of us has to stay in and the other goes out. Can't wait til we are all able to go again.

Now on to the Heikes Thanksgiving/Christmas that was held here over Thanksgiving weekend. It was awesome having everyone here. It wasn't quite as crazy as we had imgined it would be. Don't get me wrong, there wasn't a quiet moment in the house except when all the little eyes were closed. But it was awesome having them all here.  Here are a couple shots from the gift opening event.

I think Jason, who is taking the picture, is the only one not in this shot. It felt a bit calmer than years past when opening gifts. However, this could have been because I was fairly out of it. Remember this was only 4 days out from baby delivery.

Ella caught on quite a bit more to the opening gifts idea this year. Anytime she would go to dig into one of her gifts she would find either Jason or my eyes to see it was okay to rip open the paper. Such a good little thing. I worry though when I get our gifts under the tree... will I find them torn open?! Probably.

Here we all are. Such a nice shot. Notice Ella right in front in her rocking chair with a book? My goodness this girls LOVES her books. Mom & Dad now have 10 grandbabies. And before you ask... NO. We don't know if there will be 11. Jason and I are the only option for #11. WAY too soon to make that call. It has been asked more than I can count though.
